for discussion essays do we want to write 3 body paragraphs for discussing about one view, discussing about the other view and for our opinion. Or is it ok to write 2 body paragraphs for discussing two views and say our opinion in the conclusion?
Is it good to write both side of the question for , To what extend do yo agree or disagree , type question. It is so confusing as many teachers giving different answers. I thought if I agree I only need to write why I agree, also the same for disagree. If I partially agree I can write why I am partially agreeing(one paragraph each)but I seen model answers like why others say it is the other way for the opposite side . Is it ok to write like that.( if I am agreeing can I write a paragraph why others disagree)
Giving examples is a way to illustrate an idea. It is not necessary to do so in all paragraphs if you can explain what you mean clearly without needing to give an example. If you look at the first body paragraph, I give an example of children in the West but I use the linking devices of “At the moment”. This is current day example.
All the best
. 1)for agree or disagree essay, once we give our opinion as agree in the introduction – is it correct to talk about disadvantages first and then the benefits and conclude with as advantages outweigh disadvantages and hence I agree with the……
. 2) for argument and also for opinion essay can I follow the same for relevant topics.
secondary, increase workout lessons and it’s role in reducing obesity risk factors among elderly people not only students, because having body mass index more than 25 could be harmful to that age group as same as children .A good way to achieve this goal is to educate people over 65 of age during regularly family physician visits .
To conclusion ,there are plenty solutions such as more education between society subgroups, but it’s not lonely enough to deal with the issue
Hi there! Ms Liz, regarding what extent do you agree or disagree, if ever I will stand for partly agree. Which for me, I partly agreee because it is not the best way to deal with the problem, there should be a supplemental option. In my first paragraph, I will discuss the positive effects of physical education in school in fighting obesity problems.
Second paragraph would be this way ” However, there are other options that should be blended in physical education in school to achieve an optimal effect of eliminating obesity. This is the importance of healthy diet that should be incorporated into physical education to achieve an optimal effect in eliminating obesity. Because nowadays fast foods are everywhere which students tend to choose more often regarding everyday nourishment. Lastly, my conclusion would be, “To conclude physical education could give a positive effect in hindering obesity in children, however, to further achieve the best result of lowering cases of overweight individuals, proper diet should also be included. Thank you Ms Liz.
So far I've concentrated on explaining how I see these patternsand their variations. Now I can start talking about their pros andcons to help figure out which ones to use and when.
I appreciate for your time and effort to reply my question. I still have confusion with agree or disagree and argumentative essay. So both are same. That means we can follow same structure for both them. Is that correct?
There is no set rule. As soon as you see it is an opinion essay (an essay that asks for your view), you can choose your position – one sided or partial. I have advanced lessons which explain this and show how the same essay can be written one-sided or with a partial view. In the lesson, the “partial view” is called a “balanced opinion” – it’s just a different way to say it. Here is a link to my advanced writing task 2 lessons:
How r u
I need ur help,
Can u please answer if I am right?
Question :some people believe that hobbies need to be difficult to be enjoyable.
To wht extend do u agree or disagree?
Background statement: personally I believe that both type of hobbies can be fun, and I therefore disagree with the statement tht hobbies need to be difficult in order to be enjoyable
Body1:why easy hobby is fun
Body2:why difficult hobby gives pleasure.
Conclusion:in conclusion, simple hobbies can be fun and relaxing, but difficult hobbies can be equally pleasurable for different reasons.
If then, on the essay, should I write this viewpoint on the introduction, and then in body 1, I write why is it good to have physical education lessons in school, and in body 2, write the importance of diet?
So in the conclusion it will be like, ‘introduction of exercise and physical education sessions in school will benefit people’s weight control, however, the result can be maximized if a well balanced diet is combined’ something like that?
And in concluding youressay, you are able to do so effectively and with confidence. That is the key to successful and effective writing -- the abilityto communicate with confidence.
++ And also, in the body 2 part, I want to include a quote that lots of personal trainers and internet shows – that successful weight loss is a result of 80% diet management and 20% exercising. So healthy diet is actually quite important.
Could you please make a proper sentence with this information? I want to make a formal sentence however don’t know who I would say as a quote provider… 🙂 Thanks!
While most OWL resources recommend a longer writing process (start early, revise often, conduct thorough research, etc.), sometimes you just have to write quickly in test situations. However, these exam essays can be no less important pieces of writing than research papers because they can influence final grades for courses, and/or they can mean the difference between getting into an academic program (GED, SAT, GRE). To that end, this resource will help you prepare and write essays for exams.
